Reminder about Dungeons & Experience from Quests

The first time you complete a quest within a dungeon you receive 100% of the experience for the quest. The second time you complete the same quest within that same dungeon, you receive 50% experience for that quest. All subsequent times you complete that quest within that dungeon, you do not receive any experience. You will always receive full experience for duels against creatures, just not goals related to the quest.

Important Changes to the Gift Window

Currently the in-Game Gift Window shows 25 pages of items that can be redeemed with 5 items per page. This is changing to 10 pages of items that can be redeemed, with 5 items per page.

It's VERY IMPORTANT that you understand that you must redeem items currently in your Gift Window before new items will appear. The items you redeem from KIFreeGames or other promotions are not lost, they have not disappeared, you simply need to make room for them in your Gift Window by removing items you have in there now.

This is the January 2012 installment of my Book of the Month Club. These books have been suggested by a fellow Librarian from Earth, her name is Kit Ward-Crixell and she is a librarian in New Braunfels, Texas, USA.

Our chosen book this month is Mercy Watson to the Rescue byKate DiCamillo (illustrated by Chris Van Dusen). It is an easy book for younger kids to read, but still fun for older kids with its great illustrations of Mercy (the pig), her loving owners Mr. and Mrs. Watson, and the neighbors Baby and Eugenia Lincoln (Eugenia does *not* approve of pigs). It's the first one of many Mercy Watson adventures, and it will make you hungry for toast with butter!

Look for this book in your school or local library and enjoy reading, young Wizards!

Producer's Letter: December 2011

My Dear Wizards,

I’m very glad to be corresponding with you again! Suffice it to say, we’ve been busier putting out flames than a water elemental following a young firecat, but it’s all been worth it to bring our large end-of-year update out. We’re very excited to reveal what we’ve been working on for a large portion of the year… unveiling a new Spiral door to Zafaria. I’m afraid I’ve been busy with grading final essays for my students and don’t have much to say about it myself, but I was able to send a field reporter, one of my best students, out into the fray in Zafaria to get the scoop on the missing students, and I will include her report below...

Samantha Brightmoon here, at the scene of the crime, looking for the poor, frightened, missing students who bravely ventured into the wild lands of Zafaria for what they thought would be a safely chaperoned student exchange program. Who’s to blame? Is it Sir Reginald Baxby, for creating the program to send them into the dangerous lands of Zafaria or perhaps Professor Umlilo for being a careless chaperone? I’m looking for answers here, Wizards. The cold hard fact - I won’t stop until I get the truth!

Upon my arrival through the spiral door, I attempted to speak with Lethu Blunthoof, a guard in Baobab Crossroads. “Go away. You are just as much of a pest as that Ghostmane. I’m busy guarding this gate.” When pressured for more details on the students, he simply said, “I deal with so many annoyances regularly here at my post, I simply wouldn’t be able to distinguish between them. If I knew, I probably wouldn’t tell you anyway. Leave me be, Wizard.” When pressed for more facts, he simply put his hooves up to his ears and hummed a tune. How rude. I would have to look for my answers elsewhere.

I was able to sneak past the others at watch and make my way into Baobab Crown, and hit the jackpot! The Zafarian Council! They were responsible for approving the students’ travel, so they must know who is to blame for this travesty! First I spoke to the Olyphant, Rasik Pridefall, who would do little more than mutter some very-not-nice sounding words and threaten me with mice. After that, each time I tried to ask him questions, he wordlessly picked me up and turned me around. Over and over - these Zafarians are just infuriating! It’s not like Ravenwood where people treat you with respect! Hrmph!

Kakenya Brokenfang was willing to speak with me, but I certainly didn’t like what he had to say. “They’re lost and probably never will be heard from again,” he said with a shrug. When questioned how he could let something like that happen, he just kept going on and on about a map. I didn’t want a map: I wanted answers! The rest of the council was just as worthless. Unathi Nightrunner just kept telling me about the problems in the market and Rasik Pridefall was gone when I returned to question him again.

In my Zafarian travels thus far, I am not impressed with the accountability and the attitudes of those in positions in power! I return to Ravenwood without answers about the missing class, I only have information on how utterly RUDE people can be. This is Samantha Brightmoon, signing off.

I certainly think that she may have just gotten off on the wrong foot with some of the Zafarians, she does make a point that there is a mystery to be solved. If you are level 60 and have finished your adventures in Celestia, please see Merle Ambrose to start your own investigation into the students’ disappearance. I hear there are many perks that reward your venture into dangerous lands, such as being able to attain 70th level, as well as access to new Rank 9 spells and new Astral spells! Players can choose to purchase an item from a shopkeeper or the SHOP button on their screen, and Gift that item to another player on their Friends list.

Not all items are giftable, and only items purchased with Crowns (not gold) can be gifted. Just look for the little gift icon when you're shopping, select an item and click on Gift.

This Gift giving feature is controlled through Parental Controls. Players over the age of 18 will be able to send Gifts to any other player on their Friends list. Players under the age of 18 will need to enable this feature through the Parental Controls on their account.

My goodness has it been a year already! Seems like only yesterday I was in the Spiral meeting lots of new young Wizards.

If you know and love Charlotte's Web, you might love Babe the Gallant Pig, by Dick King-Smith. Babe lives on a farm in Australia and learns to herd sheep from his foster mother, a sheepdog. If you're not from Australia, some of the words Mr. King-Smith uses might not be familiar, but you can still figure out what's going on as Babe saves the day more than once with his unusual talent.

Malorn WillowSmith says: Wouldn't it be nice if Wizard101 (KingsIsle) added a Salon Shop to the game?

Wizard101, of course could feature this new interactive feature in the Test Realm (hint). The Salon Ship, would offer (males/females) make-up, school themed tattoos, fingernail painting, hair dye, new/old hair styles and much more!

Some of us do know about these things in real life (citizens of the world). This idea is old, I've thought about it, it's been on Ravenwood Radio, a old episode. And now, I'm sharing this idea with you readers. That's about it, pretty basic, got the idea.

Here's the idea (check it out below):

IDEA:

Malorn WillowSmith says: Wouldn't it be cool to unequip your helmet/hat, or any other accessories on your Wizard's body and shown their skin (not naked)? Also, wouldn't it be something if Wizard101 (KingsIsle) sold a Insivibility Outfit so you could stitch your statistics (stats)to those items, having your Wizard's hair show with stitched stats too..?

Wizard101, could let folks take of their hats/helmets in the game, so they could show their hair, which seems real cool. The Inisibility Outfit idea, just thought about it, and when you go through the Tutorial (Wizard101), you select the hair style you want etc. If Wizard101, let players have their actual hat/helmet unequipped, and let players have their stats on those unequipped items, that would support the game. Gloves, that had stats would be cool with the game too.

Now, most MMORPGS (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games) don't allow their characters to be naked. I'm not trying to get to that point. There could be a thin strip of clothing for your Wizard, and your feet, head, and hands would show. Understood people? I'm sure you get the message I'm trying to express, that's about it. Just some brief explaining, later everyone!

Character Idea(s): PVP Gear, Ranks, and Items (Wizard101)

Here's the idea (check it out below):

IDEA:

Malorn WillowSmith says: Why can't Wizard101 (KingsIsle) give players new PvP Gear (besides Commander etc), new ranks, and more items for the players?

Look fellow Wizards, for over 2 years, we Warlords/Commanders, have used that same piece, of gear and now Legendary Wizards (their gear), are being used to fill that position. We need new ranks (obviously). And we need more PvP items such as a kiosk (duel circle) to purchase for gold/crowns in the Crown Shop, to go with any house (School Houses, would be NEAT) besides these $40.00 Gamecard ones etc (not bad, but still). Anyone else here get my point?!

Now, this idea is quite old, over a year ago (some wizards and I, the community), but it's about time Wizard101 takes action. There are some folks in the game like Kevin Battleblood who have surpassed the "Warlord" rank and are now "Overlords." It may look/seem awesome, but what's the drift if you don't get a "official" rank from the game, or new accessories to go with it (advanced pvp gear)? Commentary: The drift besides if you love to duel and all....

For PvP here's a example of new ranks: Overlord, Commodore, Marshall, Lieutenant etc.... Heck, but those are just suggestions, I'd advise everyone to check these pages out on Wikipedia (regarding ranks etc).

So far, lets take a look of our current ranks in-game (below). Couldn't ranks from those links/lists take those slots?

Would be nice if Warlord gear was released and had Critical/Block Rating, better resist, accuracy, etc, I would totally spend my tickets on those. Now another idea I had, was if your wizard/character became a Warlord/Commander, you could get your arena gear, instantly and make up for the tickets later. So, if your a great duelist like me, that's not really a problem huh?

That's about it for now, more pvp items to use (Crowns Shop) etc, new ranks, items, anything else that comes to mind. Later fellow Wizards. Malorn WillowSmith says: Wouldn't it be nice if Wizard101 adjusted the drop rates (main gear) for the instances: Waterworks and Tower of the Helephant?

For the Waterworks and Tower of the Helephant, Wizard101 should remove the useless drops that Legendary Wizards (like myself) don't even need. I was fortunate yesterday to be first in the kiosk (duel area), and receive my Balance Robe from Slyster yesterday.

Wizard101, keep the reagents, but it turns out when you collect the reagents in the instance, it lowers your rate of getting your school Legendary piece. People, shouldn't keep farming over 2 hours + (one hour with experienced strategic group) just to attain the item they need. If there was a exploit fine, get the issue resolved and fixed. I'm sure Wizards, wouldn't mind farming and farming if Waterworks was more like Briskbreeze when you receive a school item (regardless) 100% which you could trade to a different character.

Yesterday, I was going to complete the Tower of the Helephant, but didn't have enough time, that dungeon takes about an hour and thirty minutes, so it's no big deal. As long, as Legendary (Level 60) drops are awarded, the whole time. I'm sure the Wizard101 community will keep its "cool." And yes, this is a bit of a rant.

So that's the issue, and that's the solution. Simply adjust the drop rates (Legendary gear), make the rates higher and Wizards will remain proud. Doesn't have to be complicated, Malistare for example.

Here's a post, from a fellow community member: SorceressMiklai, I recommend highly that you check this post out, and keep notifying KingsIsle (Wizard101). After about two runs yesterday (coincidence), I was finally able to attain the final piece of my Waterworks gear, from a very arrogant and ugly boss.

Character Idea(s): Gifting (Wizard101)

Malorn WillowSmith says: Wouldn't it be neat if Wizard101 (KingsIsle) let players gift items to any players using a trade/gift code in the game which they could redeem online/ using a special interactive feature where the person could be by another person in the game click the trade/gift feature on the character's log/features etc, and gift/trade a item right there instantly..?

Wizard101, could let wizards chose items from the Crown Ship and there could be a special option, where you receive a trading/gifting code from the player (they would have ids - very fancy), purchase the item for the player: mounts, gold, crowns (possibly), game card packs, houses, pets, and much more. Would that not be awesome?

Many Wizard101 communities I interact with online, lets say #twizards (Twitter), and #fwizards (Facebook), and blogs/fansites as well, they make/manage contests and many folks don't have time to keep adding friends and meeting up with the specific wizard in-game so they can claim/redeem their award. So why not head to the Wizard101 website, they could have a Crowns Shop list on the site, you choose the item you wish to get to purchase for yourself/or another in-game, you get the trade/gift code send it to that player online, and abracadabra your done! Fast and easy!

If you just missed what I stated, I'm saying Wizard101 could have two features where you could this process online, or simply do it in-game - Wizard101. Ideas like these promote the business everyone.

Hello, fellow Wizards. This is M.W.S (Malorn WillowSmith), and I've been thinking about this one which I'd like to express to you, my readers.

Here's the idea (check it out below):

IDEA:

Malorn WillowSmith says: Wouldn't it be neat if Wizard101 (KingsIsle), let players have access to a trading center in-game?

Wizard101, could implement a trading center for the Wizards in the game. People, would be able to put up their items from the game, and have an opportunity to give someone that item for free (if they wanted, or in exchange for something else). I'm thinking about Wizard101, putting the Trading Center in every world, so players who don't have access would get a chance to use the feature.

Specifically on my mind, let's say the Level 50 GM (Grandmaster) Gear - Malistare, you can't sell the item, should someone with bad luck keep taking their chances (eventually, they would get it - example) or head to a Trading Center instead to get the gear, that would improve their gaming..?

The list would go on and on, pretty much. Wizards, would people able to trade pets, gear, reagents, treasure cards, and much more, (houses possibly) all for free or a fair price.

It would be a bit like the Bazaar, kinda crazy, so if you have a good friend you could enter the Center use the sigils (timers in-game i.e instances/dungeons etc), and do it one on one with your comrade. Of course, I'm just offering my suggestions. Hopefully, gear like the Waterworks legendary ones could be up for trade. Wizard101, I believe would have a nice good idea of what to do.

Enough about doing the process in-game. Let's say your off-game? Well, have a friend online at the moment, and Wizard101 could place unique codes on the item, you could redeem it online at the Official Wizard101 Site, and have your item waiting for you in the game!

Well, I hoped you visualized the SOTS version of that, now think about that, and start to visualize your own! This idea seems worth a shot to me, there are some disadvantages to it too, mentioning lots of folks, that means high on supplies, but bidders, but I'm sure that can get handled.

Into Celestia with the SOTS! (12)

Awesome news readers/followers of the SOTS!

Afternoon my comrades, last week M.W.S (Malorn WillowSmith), completed Celestia! That's a heck of a long time considering our first post which you can read here. Quite short in comparison to last week's post which you can find here "(LEVEL 60: Into Celestia with the SOTS [11])" dated 9/10/11. Got in a load of play time. Quests didn't take so long, got some assistance from people in the game to speed things up. Done with Celestia, time to wrap up the additional side quests in my book, and time to head to Wintertusk (later, after some things)!

Got some help from my good old pal Arlen Dawneyes in the Trial of the Spheres dungeon. Wrapped up some of the quests already that you see here. Managed to get last Zodiac Tome book with this indirect guide here (which I forgot, lol). Already, been making tons of gold, and receiving some good Level 60 drops from a particular place too. The site is updated as usual, bleh. :P

Got a friend to do a specific assignment for me, won't post about it, but you might find the pictures everywhere you might happen to click. Kinda bored, need to socialize more a bit online, work on those Twitpic images (upload) should be done shortly, and questing/farming in-game.

LEVEL 60: Into Celestia with the SOTS! (11)

Fantastic news readers/followers of the SOTS!

Morning my fellow Wizards, today M.W.S (Malorn WillowSmith), has accomplished a historical feat, today Malorn is level 60! That's quite sometime from my first post (which I explained the situation), and pretty short in comparison to last week's post which you can find here "(LEVEL 59: Into Celestia with the SOTS! [10])" dated 9/4/11. I got in some free time as usual. The drops took a bit of time, but I finally managed to persuade the creatures! I believe I can say I'm out of the Crustacean Empire, and it's about time to wrap up Celestia!

Not too many bosses, hehe caught up on some gold. Just need some more for my Grandmaster crafting quest, and my future Balance School House (customized by me, in due time). The House will be awesome, a matter of fact!

Ha, you can see top picture, I got an extra training point. One some side quests from Celestia Base Camp, are turned in I should get 3 more. I'm getting more Criticals frequently, not so many on Ra. I've been able to solo a LOT better, due to my gear, and new spell.

Can't wait to top off more gold, and head into more worlds of the Spiral! I have my sites set forth on Waterworks, and Tower of the Helephant (amazing gear, will provide the SOTS his zing during PvE/PvP combat, in other words, I'll be pretty much invincible).

LEVEL 59: Into Celestia with the SOTS! (10)

Good news readers/followers of the SOTS!

Evening dear Wizards, today (M.W.S), Managed to top off another level! I'm level 59 now, daily/weekly plans are paying off! This is a very small amount of time compared to today/yesterday's post (earlier) which I posted about here "(LEVEL 58: Into Celestia with the SOTS [9])" dated 9/4/11. No need to discuss about free time. The questing took longer, thing I hate about Wizard101, the drop rates, bleh. :P I'm now in the Crustacean Empire, I'm on a roll!

Level 59 Balance Gear!

Woot, regained some gold. I have some quick schemes to make 100/200ks instantly. You can see I got an extra training point from Zeke/Lounge Lizards Quest. If you don't want to go all day searching for the Lizard, I suggest you check this video out. Helped out a lot. Thanks for the support/encouragement folks of the Wizard101 community. I've conversed w/ old/new friends in-game, and it feels good. Took me about 10 tries to finally get a Critical on Ra, now I'm getting more, yay me!

I heard about some practice pvp party event on Twitter here. I believe it's today, so look for the #twizards (Twitter Wizards) hashtags! Check it out for more news (this evening: 9/4/11)! Ah, so if you can't tell,I level up QUICK. I thought Celestia had a BUNCH of content, and it would take months to complete, thank God I'm experiencing it right now. Only one more level to Legendary everyone (and I thought that would be much later).

Well, I'm off folks until next time I'll see you again at level 60! - And I'll continue posting my Into Celestia with the SOTS!, without the level that's indicated etc. Gonna try to conclude it. Guess, I'll just be posting more on full worlds (more levels etc). Anyways, this week the place I applied for a job (real life), will reply (sometime), I'll discuss more details w/ peeps I know later. Tomorrow's Labor Day (USA), so NO school. LEVEL 58 (Balance) Spell: RA!

Hello Wizards, evening to you. I just wanted to share today some photos/and relate what happened yesterday when I hit Level 58 which you can read about here.

Yesterday, that's right, I hit LEVEL 58 and got my Level 58 Spell at the same time. I managed to defeat (solo) the boss Helios (Fire), he cheats, I was called nothing but, "a mere mortal" in comparison to him (dialogue text). I managed to get the Silver, and tame the Sun (Ra), extraordinary Balance power.

Did I forget to mention it took me only one time, and my health was around 3,000 hp (beginning), and then 2,000 hp (at the end of the duel). The Sorcerer of the Spiral, always conquers, and NO ONE STANDS IN HIS WAY (SUPREMACY)! Had a fun time facing him, for some weird reason Fire has a boost to Storm? Those specific foes at least..? Bleh, cool with me!

LEVEL 58: Into Celestia with the SOTS! (9)

Terrific news readers/followers of the SOTS!

Good Morning fellow Wizards, yesterday (evening) M.W.S (Malorn WillowSmith), managed to accomplish another feat. Malorn is now Level 58, weekly routines, but this was a brief amount of time because it took less than a day! Compared to yesterday's news which I posted about here "(LEVEL 57: Into Celestia with the SOTS [8])" dated 9/3/11. Had a bunch of free time, the questing took more time, but it paid off. I'm in the intermediate stage in the Science Center.

Thanks for the support everyone (the community). Shoutouts to the following: Bailey Skystaff (9/3/11), and Amber Unicornflower (9/3/11).

Those two friends helped me out a LOT. Plus, the support (cheering) in-game. Crediting them for the awesome assistance in Wizard101.

New Astral Spells: Level 58.

Level 50/58 Balance Gear!

I've went a bit down in gold, hopefully when I get 100,000 gold again I can buy a Balance School House. I have pets to train to, so gotta manage the money. I compared the level 58 gear (athames/rings), to others (or low level). It seems the Level 58 Balance ring/athame are lacking in MY needs, so I found something much better, that suits my needs. That might just make me invincible: PvE/PvP. (And heck, I'm a good duelist)!

Many people just read these posts I do, I recommend start off from the beginning and check out the first post here. Worked on the blog a bit, did some other things, nothing too important. Thanks everyone for informing me on some stuff, check out my Twitter feed. Well, I'm a bit bored, and it's about time I start working on other things (perhaps, getting some snacks too). Time to advance to level 59!

LEVEL 57: Into Celestia with the SOTS! (8)

Extraordinary news readers/followers of the SOTS!

Afternoon Wizards, this morning (early), one of the greatest Sorcerers of all time (in the history of Balance), M.W.S (Malorn WillowSmith), managed to reach another level. Level 57 actually, same weekly routines (progress), and a short amount of time compared to last week which I posted about here "(LEVEL 56: Into Celestia with the SOTS [7])" dated 8/28-9/3/11 (read the post if you have any questions). Put in some free time (greater), the questing took a bit of time, but it was well worth it in the end. I entered that Portcio area and saw a brief duel between the battle of the Morganthe's soldiers, and the Celestian's ranks.

Thanks for the support everyone (the community). Shoutouts to the following: Valerian Nightbringer (9/3/11), crediting him for his great assist in-game.

I'm not trying to appear rude, but he was my only friend left during that time of the day/night etc. BIG one to him. The experience was awesome! That's how I ranked up so quickly. I bought a Bengal Tiger mount early today, the critical/block level 58 gear in advance, and some other accessories too, my style/outfit which I'l l get my Waterworks Balance items, and transfer the stats on there.

As usual, tan (brown - acceptable for this game), and maroon (dark red), make the official colors of Balance. If you see me in-game that's what I wear (so, come and try to chat with me). After all, I'm the Sorcerer of the Spiral, very unique, highly intellectual, individualistic (most of the time), athletic, and not to forget charming: ladies.

I wouldn't be surprised if I surpassed 100k (100,00) gold again, looking forward to indeed haha.

Let's see the first picture, the dialogue was up and well, didn't close it in time, regardless I leveled up. One more level to get the spell: Empowerment and Gargantuan yay me! Conversed (usual) a bit, talked to some friends I met 1/2 weeks ago, and well they've made improvements, they're Legendary now, congrats to them. I'm gonna start pvping a bit secretly, but not ranked at this present moment. I apologize for the other posts, been having some issues w/ the Blogger/Google service, it's annoying, and the glitch still isn't fixed. *Sigh*

As for the new gear I've mentioned, well I'll have a close friend in the game (make a brand new avi/sig) for me. Seems KingsIsle, is doing better now, I mentioned abt the OFFICIAL colors of Balance, and before (some time ago), you couldn't dye your character the way you actually wanted, go figure. I'll be having a all new look (appearance), so watch out!

I might make a poll this site regarding my Inspection Idea, which you can find here. Give me feedback on what you have to say about it! Submitted the idea to Wizard101, so hope they acknowledge it. Well, that's about it for now, I'll keep you updated through my links (here). Later my comrades, time to kick butt, until then time to hit level 58!

Welcome to Wysteria

This month's big news of course is the release of Wysteria. Wysteria was once a trade post and pleasant enough small town in the Wizard City cluster, not too far away but of little consequence in the overall scheme of things, until a magical incident occurred that caused a crawling vine to grow and completely overrun the town.

Wysteria contains three main areas available to players level 25 and higher; Pigswick Academy, Pegasus Place and Tanglewood Way. Players who are level 60 will find a special tower in Tanglewood Way called Tower of the Helephant. This dungeon will test even the mightiest of Wizards. Make sure you're up for the challenge!

Players who are level 25 or higher should speak to Merle Ambrose in his tower. He will offer you the quest "To the Registrar".

Stern Warning from Mr Lincoln

I'd like to address our young Wizards who think it is okay to circumvent the chat filters in place. Those chat filters are there for a reason and allow you to communicate with each other in the game about game related topics. It is not appropriate for you to try to use creative profanity by swearing around the filters. There are consequences to your actions. Doing so will result in the removal of your chat privileges, losing out on your ability to openly converse in game. You can still play the game with the Wizard you worked so hard to create but you have proven that you cannot be trusted to interact with other players in a safe way.

We appreciate that our players want to make the Spiral the best it can be, and we've placed the tools in your hand to report players for inappropriate behavior. We ask that you use the reporting feature to report creative profanity (swearing around the filters) as well as false representation of a KingsIsle employee, solicitation of usernames/passwords, predatory threats, racist comments and other such actions as outlined in the Terms of Use.

LEVEL 56: Into Celestia with the SOTS! (7)

Cool news readers/followers of the SOTS!

Morning Wizards, yesterday one of your fave Sorcerers Malorn WillowSmith (M.W.S), topped off another level. Managed to hit Level 56, weekly progress, so minimum amount of time since reaching level 55 which I posted about here "(LEVEL 55: Into Celestia with the SOTS [6])" dated August 21st, 2011. I got in a bit of free time of course, it just took longer with the questing (drop rates), the creatures I was fighting. I was working on multiple quests: side/main quests at once (Celestian)!

Thanks for the support everyone (the community). Shoutouts to the following: Kestrel Shadowthistle (8/27/11), Quinn Shadowsword (8/27/11), Michael Owleyes (8/27/11), Autumn Dreamwalker (8/27/11), Timothy Lighttalon (8/27/11), Padric Waterslinger (8/27/11), and Donna Spellthorn (8/27/11). Due to some difficulties: time period - this post is getting published: 9/3/11 instead of 8/28/11, the original date.

The experience was low for some weird reason, irritating creature fights. But, combined it was awesome. I have 156,871 Gold (Wizard101), Almost 200,000 gold. I intend to buy a Balance House later, and get the Level 58 gear/Bengal Mount right away!

I'm a bit proud of myself, heck I've come a short/long way. Everything is quite typical what I've done. Conversed, updated the site a bit, and published some posts. I hope some folks thought about my latest idea for Wizard101 which you can check out here. I gotta thank my good pal Arlen Dawneyes once more for his advice over Twitter (which I took, of course).

Not much to say regarding transferring schools (irl), my folks and resources have had meetings with the board (and I'll be transferred to a better CPA school by next year - Junior). Make sure you check out the SOTS Blogger's Club/Archives, I have listed on the right-side of my site, for current listings of new wizzy fansites. Gonna end this discussion for now. Character Idea(s): Inspection (Wizard101)

Hello, fellow wizards. Tonight, I'm experimenting something new, a bit fresh. There is a new thing I'm doing, Malorn WillowSmith's (M.W.S) personal/public ideas/thoughts (and/from others too), pretty much. Just any idea that pops up, and I'd like to share with the community (YOU).

Anyways, here's the idea (below), I've had it for awhile, just been thinking how to express it to YOU dear reader (those who have their own ideas send an email to: malornwillowsmith@yahoo.com, or simply leave a comment here below this post).

Here's an idea (check out below).

IDEA:

Malorn WillowSmith says: Wouldn't it be awesome if Wizard101 (KingsIsle), let players hide their stats from others in the game?

You never truly know when someone's looking at your stats (besides sending you a text chat/message for example - pm/dm).

Malorn states that Wizard101 should socially interact like Facebook a bit. There should be numerous options to allow anyone to access your character's stats. For example, what if you want your character's stats as private (yourself), and you don't want the public eye to see them (PvP for instance/surprising your opponent)..? You don't want to make it that obvious.

A friends option would be neat (only those on your buddy list could access them), another group chat for example (the group could/couldn't see your statistics).

Of course the ignore/report button should remain there just in case. I talk a bit to people with my interests and let's say your facing a tough foe in pvp, that person could devise a heck of a plan, (after your chat/outburst), to bring you down, and you cost you the match/win. Ha, and I'm not a okay I'll give up/quit type of person (my present goals are to demolish anyone I'm facing, yep that's right even YOU), and if my foe happens to overwhelm me I'll train (attend my studies, request for a match, show my new profound skills), a cleverly devised plan for the win! Woot. Love tough(er) opponents!

You see things like that are about the element of surprise. Another option, I've chose for the game (this idea/option) would be "custom." A bit like Facebook you have the option to choose/select which SPECIFIC person you would like to access your profile/anything similar to it, pretty much. Well, read on please.

What if someone has a grudge on you/or you happen to dislike the person in this case? Well, of course there should be a block option to, so YOU WON'T be able to view their chat (your chat log informs and you select yes/no), you'll be ignoring that person (idiot to you), once and for all.

Don't you think, that will be worth a shot? When I think about it, it could be used positive/negatively by anyone. Well, I'll be sending an email to KingsIsle soon (community@wizard101.com). Just hoping, they read the post (someone), and tell me their thoughts/concerns.

In fact, I'd like to see this (or something close) get implemented into the game. Make sure you contact me somehow (my connections), and send me your thoughts/feedback. Good suggestions I get from fellow wizards of the Spiral, I'll publish them onto my blog/site pretty much.

Please, no insults/rude statements (these are just my opinions, more ideas to come you/myself).

Producer's Letter: August 2011

My Dear Wizards,

Summer is always a busy time here at KingsIsle. You know that super secret fun stuff that we release when you’re in your winter jackets? We were hard at work on that before the temperatures even touched 100° (and if you’ve been paying attention to Texas weather, you’ll know that was pretty early this year).

Creating a new world is sort of like making lasagna (I like mine with hot sauce, but that’s not the point). While it is delicious and worth the wait, there are a lot of steps that have to be followed to make it right:

- We have to preheat the oven (pre-production – coming up with the plan, laying the ground work so that everyone knows exactly what needs to be done),
- You have to get all the ingredients and mix it just right (the team spends months making the plan come to life),
- And then you have to bake for a few hours at 350° (test it, test it, test it!)

...and then just when you think you’re done, let it cool so it doesn’t burn your mouth (i.e. put it on the Test Server, in front of real players, and see how it works in a live environment!).

In cooking, I’m always tempted to skip the last step (at the risk of burning the roof of my mouth), but never with making Wizard101 – testing is important!

Well, I am happy to report that things are definitely coming together and we can’t wait to serve you our latest concoction – but only when it’s properly cooled and ready!

While it's the big updates that get everyone excited, let's not forget about the smaller ones that can be just as engaging. By now you've all had a chance to take a look at Wysteria, our newest edition to the worlds of the Spiral! You can have a shot at winning the Spiral Cup and meet some new friends from abroad… you may have to win them over, though. Not everyone is friendly at first!

Pigswick Academy is an adventuring area geared toward Wizards who have leveled to their mid-to-upper 20s who want to take a break from Krokotopia or Marleybone, though anyone over 25th level can participate! If you’ve hit the level cap and are looking for a challenge, seek the Heart of the Helephant. Assuredly, you’ll find it of sufficient challenge... and to the victor go the spoils!

Also, there another couple of nifty smaller surprises in this update:
- We’ve had a lot of Wizards let us know that it’s too easy to accidentally ignore a friend – so we’ve added a confirmation window.
- Y’know how some of those bigger monsters like to hide their school affiliations? No more – they appear on the 2d Combat Menu.
- We've added a new collectible card pack to the Crowns Shop. The Wyvern's Hoard pack is FULL of cards for gardening, pet snacks, and great loot. Keep an eye out for one of five unique Wyvern mounts, epic creatures that can only be found in the Wyvern's Hoard card pack.
- We also added Teleporters for Housing! Now you can drop your own teleport pads, allowing your visitors to pop quickly around you Castle from one place to another. And, as a side note -- these teleporters can be used to link your Castles together, as well! Now your guests can pop between your Castles, and you can use Teleporters to turn your house party into a block party!

Feedback Fridays are still going strong! About two months ago, we called for your questions. I answered a few of them, but I wanted to save them for a wider distribution (plus, I needed to track down some professors when they weren’t busy and ask them for their answers). I’ll be picking some of my favorites and answering them over the next few letters.

Cyrus Drake: “Certainly nothing YOU could cast…” (Falmea note: Sorry, jason38! I asked him to elaborate and he started looking angry and muttering about pesky questions distracting him from his studies, so I just left.)

chill30461 asks me: “What drew you to the power of Fire?”
Dalia Falmea: What DIDN’T draw me to the power of fire? Fire is pure, combustible power. It can be harnessed all at once in a powerful explosion or summoning, or start small but cause great damage with a controlled burn. Its power is also very temporary – fire is only alive so long as it is fed and maintained, and a proper wind can extinguish it. It’s a great metaphor for life, don’t you think?

We’re making it easier to find your friends on Wizard101!!

We know that playing Wizard101 is more fun when you’re playing with your friends, and that’s why we’ve made some changes to the True Friend Code. Now all players will be able to use the True Friend Code to find their friends in the game. All new accounts will have this featured turned on, and we’ve started the process of turning it on for all existing accounts as well. Starting today, all accounts (even under 13 accounts) will have True Friend Code turned on by default unless their Parental Controls are set otherwise. It will take several days for us to turn True Friend Code on for all the accounts, so if you don’t see it right away please be patient. If your parent would like to turn off this feature, they are able to change it in the parental control panel.

Fabulous news readers/followers of the SOTS!

Hello Wizards, today Malorn WillowSmith (M.W.S), successfully topped another level! Just managed to turn Level 55, pretty cool considering yesterday about hitting level 54 which I posted about here "(LEVEL 54: Into Celestia with the SOTS [5])" dated August 20th, 2011. Got in quite a bit of free time, diving more into the world of Celestia, and always looking to making Legendary!

Man, the Celestian experience is awesome. Some of the creatures are quite boring to fight. Fortunately, I was able to get the drops I needed to move on. 129,492 gold in the game. Got some great advice from a friend over Twitter. Advise you to check this out for a contest $20 Wizard101 Game Card. Trying to make some good money so it'll be enough for the Bengal Tiger mount and the Level 58 Balance Gear at the same time.

The first picture you see here in this album I accidentally took the shot AFTER the notice appeared. Conversed (as usual) today with some friends, my blog is now on Central's List haha, well done. Edited the site a bit today, sent some emails etc, turns out at level 56 I can get the spell I desire from the District of the Stars.

School's tomorrow (attending/second week) a bit tired, been busy a bit doing chores, eating, exercising and the like. Glad I accomplished another feat today. Well, that's about all today (gonna do more, of course)! Until next time my friends, level 56!

LEVEL 54: Into Celestia with the SOTS! (5)

Great news readers/followers of the SOTS!

Greetings Wizards, today I (M.W.S) Malorn WillowSmith managed to hit another level! Ha, I just turned Level 54, that's pretty cool, considering around a week's amount of time due to making Level 53 in Wizard101 which I posted about here "(LEVEL 53: Into Celestia with the SOTS [4])" dated August 14th, 2011. Ha, quite busy irl-wise (an excuse), but still driven to make it to Legendary before August this year (hopefully)!

Thanks for the support everyone (the community). Shoutouts to the following: Isaac Mistheart (8/20/11), Thomas Lionblood (8/20/11), Michael Owleyes (8/20/11), and Paige Moonshade (8/20/11).

Played for sometime (hehe typical). The drops were much easier than LAST time. Made tons of experience and working on numerous quests at once (lots)! I've surpassed 100k (100,000 Gold), yay me! I look forward to buying the Level 58 Gear (soon/later) and a Bengal Tiger Mount as well! ;)

I mentioned about making some cash, and well look at me now! All those other quests you see above I promise to finish them in due time (Celestia comes first side quests and then main). The actual amount of gold I have now is: 114, 144 (quite balanced). As you see above I trained in some new Astral Spells, and I've kept all the Treasures I've received (drops/trading etc).

I've edit some things a bit (connections and this blog), entered some contests, conversed, and applied my blog for Wizard101 Central's: Blog List). School has gone okay this week, plan to transfer to a different school of my choice within next week. Been quite busy, and have caught up on some things. Here's a piece of advice for any wizards struggling to get a mount (Game Packs), in Wizard101.

Try later (sometime), take it slow and steady, don't go blow off all your crowns - and no, I don't have one (haven't tried)! Until next time my comrades level 55!
